Maximizing Profit When Working From Home

Anyone can earn money online if they spend enough time trying. The reason most people give up is they don’t make what they want to make. It is true especially for us online business owners that the first year of an online business is painfully slow. This is the time you spend catching up with the rest of the webmasters and bloggers in your niche. Anyone that has experience working from home knows that you can’t judge the success of a business from the first few months. You need to give it time to build trust with Google and the other major search engines and while doing so be building up your links and social presence. Once you reach a point where you are happy with the traffic it will be time to move onto maximizing profits. Never stop getting new leads and making more money. This is an ongoing process and is something that can never be perfected. Keeping your eyes open can determine the difference from making a few thousand per year to making a hundred thousand per year.

The first way you can begin maximizing profits is by making sure your internet marketing campaign matches your monetization techniques. If you are ranking well for the term “fishing” and sale construction books there is definitely something wrong. You must know all the terms you are ranking well for even if you did not plan on ranking the terms. This will help you work with Google rather than trying to force your way. Find out what Google is ranking you well for and to do this you will need to sign up with Google’s webmaster tools. Here you will be able to see every keyword you are ranking well for. Look through the keywords to see if there are any major terms which you are on 3rd or 4th page for. To see how much traffic there is for the term go to Google adwords keyword tool which you can find by doing a quick Google search. Check the monthly traffic and if it has above 20k monthly attempt to rank your presence on the first page.

Once you begin ranking your presence on the first page the next step will be making sure your monetization links reflect the term you are ranking well for. I know this is backward from how normal online business is. In normal online business you create your site and pick your terms in the beginning. The problem is you do not choose what Google ranks you well for. Google comes to your website and evaluates your incoming links putting it all together in a secret algorithm then ranking your website for keywords. It is much easier to work with Google by checking to see what terms they are ranking you well for rather than hoping they will rank you for the terms you want.

Another way to maximize profits coming from your home business is trying out different layouts and forms of monetization. I can’t believe the number of people who think Google Adsense is the best way to monetize most websites and blogs. This is in most cases false. It is much easier to find a product on amazon or clickbank and market the product which is closely related to your presence.
